The most challenging task in today’s organizational life is to make a balance between – Recruitment and Retention. Both employees and employer have different aspects which they consider when it comes to recruitment or retention.
From an employee’s perspective:
- Growth is given more weightage than stability.
- Flashy designations, challenging roles and responsibility and lucrative perks attract them.
- Travel is comfortable and they don’t have much of location-constraint.
- Extensive networks and various referral programs.
From an employer’s perspective:
Recruitment |

Retention |

Like it is said, loss of one is gain for other, so challenge of retention is ease in recruitment while ease in retention is challenge in recruitment for the other. One of the biggest strategic recruiting challenges which organizations are going to face in this period is striking a balance between recruitment and retention or weighing one of the strategies more than the other.
