Here is a brief history of JantaKhoj along with the key milestones.

  • January – May 2009: The idea and concept of JantaKhoj is born during discussions between Ajit Gupta and Tarun Bangari.
  • June 2009: The core team expands with inclusion of Suresh GL (Head – Engineering) and Smitha Chanchal (Head – Verifications).
  • 23rd June 2009: JantaKhoj is incubated formally.
  • September 2009: JantaKhoj is registered as ‘JantaKhoj InfoServices Private Limited’ with Registrar of Companies.
  • 28th April 2010: JantaKhoj.com goes live with people search (covering 300 million records), consumer verifications and employee background verification services.
  • 21st May 2010: JantaKhoj gets ISO 9001:2008 certification for background verification processes.
  • July 2010: People Search expands to cover more than 500 million records.
  • August 2010: Enhanced People Search released with advance search, more filters, public social media profiles, pictures, videos, blogs, court records and other Web references.
  • September 2010: People Search – Self Entry feature released which allows users to enter their own details.
  • January 2011: Criminal Database Check launched for business clients.
  • March 2011: Social Media Scan launched for business clients.
  • April 2011: Newly designed JantaKhoj website launched.
  • December 2011: Court Database Check launched for business clients.
  • October 2012: Sales offices opened in Delhi/NCR and Bengaluru (Bangalore).
  • June 2013: Sales office opened in Mumbai.
  • September 2013: Housekeeping and facilities management staff verification launched.
  • November 2013: Company check launched.
  • March 2014: People Search service discontinued.
  • June 2014: JantaKhoj becomes a NASSCOM member.
  • March 2015: JantaKhoj becomes a National Association of Professional Background Screeners (NAPBS) APAC member.
  • January 2017: Aadhaar verification launched for businesses and consumers.
  • September 2017: JantaKhoj gets ISO 27001:2013 certification
  • September 2017: JantaKhoj ties up with TransUnion CIBIL to get CIBIL Score and Report for candidate screening.
  • April 2018: JantaKhoj ties up with TransUnion CIBIL to get CIBIL Company Credit Report.
